HELP MAKE A MIRACLE - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Seeking individuals
with energy enthusiasm and excitement to volunteer for these young children who have developmental delays.
This is a wonderful opportunity to participate in making a miracle happen with these unique and special
children, one that for many volunteers, has been life changing experience.
We invite you to be part of our exciting and energetic, in-home Son-Rise Program™. This approach
combines a non-judgemental attitude with an intense effort to engage and motivate our children to reach their full potential.
it is profoundly respectful of our children's world, is gentle and allows you to experience first hand the empowerment
in giving to others.
We use the approach outlined in the award winning book and TV movie, Son-Rise, by Barry
Neil Kaufman.

- 4 hours per week

We are interested in hearing from you.
Your Volunteer Training Includes:
* Specific
instruction in methods of the Son-rise Program™ to facilitate special children
* Hands-on learning while working individually with a child
* Regular feedback
sessions. These times are designed to help you analyze and understand your interactions with our children in order to help
you become more effective in helping them grow
* Group meetings. A key aspect of home-based programs, where we and all
of our volunteers come together to share our excitement and experiences with our child, and to help design/redesign the ongoing
focuses and content of the program.
People with a variety of skills, experience, backgrounds and interests who
want to participate with us and learn the Option teaching skills are welcome.
If you are studying special needs education, drama or psychology, this position may be of particular interest to
you for your future career.

The positions available are based in Eastwood, Church Point, Avalon
and the Southern Highlands.
